I have finally set up my own screen and collect all necessary tools and chemicals. So I was able to try d.i.y. screen printing at home, effects are still far from perfect:) , I must work out appropriate exposure times – not sure how good is my light sensitive photo emulsion, because I got it from a friend for free and I am using builders flodlight (500W) so I just have to try few times to find perfect time. Anyway even like that I quite like the effect, it has a real hand made feel, unique and very hard to re-create digitally.

Nice work Pasiek. I particularly like the slightly fucked up effect from the dodgy old emulsion or whatever. I would add to Suzuki’s quote – I am, after all, a zen master myself – that mistakes are the only things that are ever perfect…
It’s good to make your own tools. I find myself doing that from time to time, and it gives a bit more depth to your work: there’s always an easy way to do something that is not nearly as good – and not nearly as satisfying. I could have reproduced that ‘Niceday’ envelope pattern on illustrator and got it archivally glissee printed on to canvas for about £1000 (actually I couldn’t… ) but it would be shit in comparison.
I would really like to do screenprints of envelope paintings – it would make them affordable, which I like – even cutting a stencil by hand could be quite appealing.

cheers for comment man, that idea of screenprints of some paintings is really good, I like when Art becomes more affordable and screenprintins seems to be a perfect medium for that.
